A CoCoRaHS reporter in Truckee reported 8.5 inches from February 14th into February 15th. A second CoCoRaHS reporter in Tahoma reported 7.0 inches from February 14th into February 15th. The National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center estimated 6 to 18 inches over 48 hours. Ski Resorts reported 6 to 16 inches over 36 hours. CalTrans reported 11 inches at Kingvale and 12 inches at Yuba Pass over 36 hours. The sensor at Meadow Lake at elevation 7200' estimates 17 inches over 36 hours.
Wider weather episode
A weather system moved in from the west early Wednesday afternoon bringing widespread rain to the Valley with heavy snow over the mountains. Periods of chain controls were observed in the mountains.
