In both Springfield and Crystal Lake, 4 inches of snow was measured. The CoCoRaHS observer 4 miles north northwest of South Charleston measured 3.8 inches.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system passing south rapidly moved east during the evening of the 16th. Widespread moderate to heavy snow north of the system was found across the region, generally along and south of the I-70 corridor.
