Event narrative

Decaying thunderstorm's winds downed large, healthy trees onto Grant Street in Monroe City.

Wider weather episode

Warm and humid conditions, including unseasonable dewpoints as high as 71 degrees at the Vincennes airport, were present across central Indiana ahead of an approaching cold front. Very heavy rain from an isolated, early evening thunderstorm drifting over portions of Jennings County eventually caused localized flash flooding west of Lovett. Later in the evening a broad area of convection arriving from Illinois included a decaying bowing segment that produced wind damage in Knox County. Soon after a rogue updraft in Hendricks County produced much small hail and a few marginally large hailstones.
