A moisture rich, strong low pressure system brought rain, wet snow and gusty winds to western Massachusetts from Saturday, March 9 through Monday, March 11, 2024. Berkshire county received snowfall accumulations ranging from 1-4 inches. The town of Pittsfield declared a snow emergency in effect from March 10-11. Additionally, strong winds ranging from 40-60 mph were also reported across Berkshire County. Numerous road closures and power outages were reported as a result of downed trees and power lines.
