Wider weather episode

A decaying Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) from the morning of May 24 over Tennessee produced an outflow boundary that sparked additional thunderstorm activity during the afternoon over Central Alabama. One of these storms produced quarter-size hail over Tuscaloosa County. The next day, in conjunction with a passing shortwave, more thunderstorms developed along an additional outflow boundary over the central part of the Alabama. This activity pushed southeastward during the afternoon, with additional activity forming in southern and western counties into the evening hours.
