Observers measured a widespread 3 to 7 inches of wet, heavy snow over an approximate 36-hour period. The wet snow caused hazardous travel, some power outages and closed schools throughout the county on the 3rd.

Wider weather episode

A powerful storm system tracking through the Great Lakes brought moderate to heavy wet snow and strong north to northeast winds to Upper Michigan from the evening of the 2nd into the morning of the 4th.
