A strengthening upper low slowly drifting in the Southern Great Lakes to Northern Ohio Valley produced gusty winds out of the WNW across the Quad State. Wind gusts were 30-40 mph areawide for the midday to afternoon hours, with gusts of 40-45 mph at several AWOS and KY Mesonet sites in Western Kentucky, mainly north and east of Land Between the Lakes. Wrap-around showers occurred with small graupel occurring in many of these showers.
