Effingham County Emergency Management reported two trees down on Union Springs Road. One tree fell onto power lines and caused a small fire by the roadway.

Wider weather episode

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms started to develop around midday in the vicinity of a southward moving cold front. As these thunderstorms tracked to the south through the afternoon, they produced numerous reports of large hail and damaging wind gusts across southeast Georgia.
