Wind gust was measured via a personal weather station via WeatherFlow as thunderstorms were moving through the area. Station was located about one mile south-southeast of Oregon Inlet.

Wider weather episode

A cold front quickly tracked eastwards across the inland and coastal waters of Eastern North Carolina on the afternoon of June 24th bringing scattered strong and damaging winds to the waters from the northern Outer Banks down to the Crystal Coast.
