Event narrative

A 50 foot wide stream of water about 3 to 4 inches deep was rushing across Squaw Prairie Road between Townhall Road and Beloit Road. Piscasaw Creek overtopped the Squaw Prairie Road Bridge. Photos and videos showed flooded yards, driveways and roads in the adjacent Wilcox subdivision. Several roads and fields were flooded northeast of Belvidere and north of Garden Prairie. Some roads had several inches of standing water on them and were closed.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms moved across northern Illinois during the afternoon and early evening of July 23rd producing isolated wind damage and isolated flooding.
