Event narrative

Four power poles were damaged by thunderstorm winds and resulted in loss of power to substations and a brief power outage.

Wider weather episode

A cluster of thunderstorms developed in a warm air advection regime with 1500 J/kg elevated MUCAPE and 35 knots of effective shear. An isolated stronger cell developed across southwest Minnesota and produced damaging wind.
