A downed tree along US Route 23 caused power outages in the area of Louisa.

Daily showers and thunderstorms were observed across northeast Kentucky during the middle of July in the midst of unseasonably hot temperatures. Thunderstorm complexes initially developed up near the Great Lakes and would then venture through the Ohio Valley each day and reaching eastern Kentucky by the peak of the afternoon. Damaging winds accompanying these storms resulted in downed trees within Greenup and Lawrence Counties before departing eastward into West Virginia on both July 14th and 16th.
