Wider weather episode

After the remnants of an MCS impacted portions of eastern Kentucky on June 25, a cold front began to approach the state on the 25th. While the cold front began to pass through the western and north-central portion of the state during the afternoon, storms also began firing ahead of the main precipitation shield along the front. These storms impacted mainly eastern Kentucky, and were able to strengthen given the unstable environment and ample moisture. One of these storms resulted in wind damage for Magoffin and Floyd counties during the evening hours.
