Similar to the day before, strong to severe thunderstorms developed along a frontal boundary draped across the forecast area, south of Lake Ontario. Storms also developed along and east of the Lake Erie lake breeze, and then tracked east-northeast to the Northern Finger Lakes and to Oswego County. Areas south of the frontal boundary had plentiful surface based CAPE values of over 2,000 J/kg, allowing the storms to develop along the different boundaries.
