A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down multiple trees onto Benshoff Hill Road blocking both lanes of the roadway west of Parkhill.

A cold front associated with surface low pressure in New England traversed Pennsylvania during the late afternoon and evening hours of June 23, 2024 in an environment with ample instability and shear. A broken line of severe thunderstorms produced severe damage in northern Tioga County with a more cohesive line of thunderstorms forming further south impacting portions of the Central Mountains of Pennsylvania.
