Significant rainfall throughout June pushed the Mississippi River at Lake City into flood stage on June 27th. The river stage crested during the early evening on June 30th in minor flood stage at 17.26 ft.

Well above average rainfall throughout June in conjunction with late-month heavy rainfall contributed to additional rises into flood stage along the Mississippi River. The river gauge at Lake City reached minor flood stage before the end of the month and remained in flood stage into July.
