Isolated early morning thunderstorms brought hail to the size of quarters and strong winds to portions of central and north central South Dakota. A peak wind gust of 60 mph was observed by the DOT weather station 5 miles west northwest of Mclaughlin, and wind driven hail was responsible for damaging siding to a residence 3 miles north northeast of Iona.
