A severe thunderstorm producing wind gusts estimated at 60 mph knocked down multiple trees and wires along Race Street and Linden Street in Richland.

An approaching MCV, coupled with ample instability and moisture during the late afternoon and evening hours of July 16, 2024 allowed for convection to begin forming across the Lower Susquehanna Valley. These thunderstorms quickly began producing instances of severe wind damage across the Lower Susquehanna Valley with isolated instances of small-to-marginally severe hail as they continued tracking northeastward into the Lehigh Valley.
