An environment characterized by strong synoptic support for lift, up to 2000 J/kg of surface-based CAPE, and good synoptic support for lift fostered the development of a few broken lines of thunderstorms during the afternoon of July 24th. The strongest were mostly north of Interstate 80, creating several instances of downed trees.
