A series of mid-level shortwaves approached an environment characterized by 1000-2000 J/kg of MLCAPE and marginal shear (mainly at or under 30 kt of Effective Bulk Shear). This allowed isolated severe thunderstorms to develop and produce damaging wind gusts across southeast NY.
