High temperatures in the mountains were in the 90s to around 100F between July 1 and July 12, 2024. Highs reached as hot as 103 to 109F up to elevation 4000 feet, especially on July 5, 10 and 11, 2024. Big Bear Lake at 7000 feet had high temperatures in the lower 90s.

Interior southern California, mountains and deserts, experience the hottest 2 week period for July, and July 2024 was the hottest month of record at Palm Springs. The average monthly temperature in Palm Springs was 100F for July. Borrego Springs average high was also a record at 97.5F.
