Extreme drought conditions in the far southern portion of the zone was removed with severe drought conditions persisting across the southern half of the zone.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions across north central and southeastern areas continued to improve due to a couple of storm systems moving through the state during the beginning and middle part of the month. The heaviest precipitation fell across northeastern NM where drought conditions were already very limited.
