Event narrative

There was a concentrated area of significant tree damage with trees and tree limbs blown down onto homes, vehicles, and in yards on Walnut Street between Crystal Lane and Hemlock Place in Temple Hills. The tree damage extended south into Henson Creek Park.

Wider weather episode

A hot, humid, and very unstable airmass resulted in scattered pulse thunderstorms that produced several instances of damaging downbursts. A couple instances of wind damage were significant just east of Washington, DC.
