For multiple sites across Sheridan County, sustained winds of 40 mph were common from mid morning through the evening. The peak wind gust of 75 mph was recorded at 1:30 PM at the Comertown Turn Off MT-5 DOT site (MTCOM). Other notable wind gusts were 74 mph at the Plentywood Airport ASOS (KPWD) at 12:55 PM, and 70 mph at the Medicine Lake mesonet site (MLKM8) at 1:58 PM.

A powerful cold front, along with light showers, transported very strong upper level winds down to the surface, bringing powerful wind gusts to the region.
