A retired National Weather Service meteorologist reported quarter size hail along Gas Hills Road to the east of Riverton. Hail covered the road to a depth of 1 to 2 inches in some locations.

Wider weather episode

A thunderstorm developed in the lee of the Wind River Mountains and become severe as it moved northeastward across Fremont County. The storm produced quarter size hail along Gas Hills Road to the east of Riverton and a 63 mph wind gust north of Shoshoni.
