NWS employee observed a five inch diameter tree branch downed half a mile east of his home.

Wider weather episode

Scattered storms developed across northeast Kansas and moved south into east-central Kansas. One of these storms briefly become strong enough to produce 60 mph gusts and wind damage across western Topeka.
