Thunderstorms developed along a stationary front, situated in the western Nebraska Panhandle during the afternoon of August 11th. As this activity drifted east, storms became severe. Hail up to the size of ping pong balls and thunderstorm wind gusts up to 70 MPH were reported with the strongest storms.
