Following the passage of a trough through central California on November 19 which brought clouds to the area resulting in temperatures remaining above freezing throughout the San Joaquin Valley on November 18, clearing skies and diminishing winds in a prevailing dry airmass resulted in subfreezing temperatures across most of the San Joaquin Valley during the morning of November 19. The airmass moderated some by the following morning as a more moderate zonal flow pattern prevailed and temperatures remained above the freezing mark across the San Joaquin Valley.
