Numerous trees and power lines were blown down according to numerous sources. The AWOS at the Springfield airport measured a gust to 58 mph.

Wider weather episode

Remnants of Hurricane Helene moved north through the eastern Tennessee Valley into the southern Ohio Valley. Widespread high winds with gusts in excess of 60 MPH, created numerous power outages from downed trees and power lines.
