The combination of strong high pressure over eastern Canada and weak low pressure off the southern New England coast, resulted in prolonged northeast, east and southeast winds which caused minor to major (tidal) coastal flooding over portions of Dorchester county adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay. Bishops Head reached 3.81 feet MLLW at 348 pm on Friday, September 20, 4.16 feet MLLW at 442 pm on Saturday, September 21, 4.41 feet MLLW at 530 pm on Sunday, September 22, 4.17 feet MLLW at 624 pm on Monday, September 23, 3.86 feet MLLW at 736 pm on Tuesday, September 24, and 3.82 feet MLLW at 836 pm on Wednesday, September 25.
