A weakening upper cutoff low moves across southern California on December 1 as it brought increased mid-level clouds and even a few light showers to the area. However, dense fog formed along SR 99 for a few hours from Madera northward since skies remained mainly clear there for much of the night. The fog lifted a little after sunrise.
