Weather Underground station KKSREXF012 reported a 59 mph wind gust. Additional wind gust of 57 mph was also reported at Colby Airport along with a visibility reduction down to 2.5 miles due to blowing dust. Powerlines were blown over around 8 NW Rexford which led to a wildfire as a hot spot was seen on satellite.

Wider weather episode

High winds developed across the region resulting in numerous instances of wind gusts greater than 50 mph. The strongest wind gust was 62 mph in Goodland, Kansas. A downed power line also led to a grassfire near Rexford.
