Event narrative

The northeast third of the county was designated in Severe Drought (D2) with the remainder of the county in Moderate Drought (D0) at the beginning of the month. Above normal precipitation from October 29th through November 7th reduced the area of Severe Drought (D2) to the far northeast portion of the county with the rest of the county in Moderate Drought (D1) or Abnormally Dry (D0) conditions. The precipitation total at Merrill during this period was 2.76 inches. Additional precipitation during the latter half of the month ended the Severe Drought (D2) over the far northeast portion of the county on the morning of the 27th. By the end of the month, Moderate Drought (D1) was confined to the far northwest portion of the county and the northeast third of the county. The remainder of the county was designated as Abnormally Dry (D0).

Wider weather episode

Drought that developed in September continued across northern Wisconsin into November. Above normal precipitation brought an end to the Severe Drought (D2) across portions of northern Wisconsin, including Lincoln County during the month.
