Event narrative

A mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow fell through the morning of the 5th. After a brief break in the afternoon, more snow fell in the evening. A total of 4 to 6 inches of snow and sleet fell across the county. Up to 1.5 inches of this fell in the form of sleet along with one quarter of an inch of freezing rain. Washington recorded 5.3 inches.

Wider weather episode

A potent winter storm brought a mix of wintry precipitation to much of the state. More southerly locations saw significant freezing rain and numerous power outages. Northern locations saw several inches of snow and blowing snow. In between a mix of sleet and snow fell. All areas saw significant travel impacts from the wintry precipitation.
