Wider weather episode
Another pre-winter storm system swings another round of snow into the region. Locally heavy snowfall was forecasted near South Lake Tahoe, Carson City, and areas southeast up to and along the Sierra Front. This brought slick roads and travel delays in the Sierra, and some higher elevations of far western Nevada like Virginia City. This time, snow levels dropped close to valley floors Friday that brought a higher chance for a mix of rain and snow across the Reno-Carson City urban area. This also allowed for the 10-20% chance for up to an inch of snow around foothill areas above 5000feet. This system brought minor impacts to the Friday afternoon commute in valley areas.
