Overnight low temperatures ranged from -5 F to -10 F across the Central Laramie Range from 1/20 into 1/21, with daytime highs generally remaining below 5 F during the afternoon on 1/20. The combination of cold temperatures and gusty winds resulted in a prolonged period of extreme wind chills under -25 F. Minimum observed wind chill values reached -30 F at the Bordeaux WYDOT sensor (9 miles S of Wheatland) at 8:42 AM MST on 1/20.

A strong arctic front brought prolonged frigid temepratures to southeast Wyoming Friday, January 17 through the early morning of Tuesday, January 21. The coldest temperatures occured Sunday night and Monday night.
