Event narrative

Multiple sensors recorded wind gusts between 55 and 60 MPH along Interstate 80. The Wildcat Trail WYDOT sensor (7 NE Buford) along WY-210 recorded a maximum wind gust of 63 MPH at 1:02 AM MST on 1/24.

Wider weather episode

An incoming cold front lead to a strong pressure gradient over much of southeast Wyoming. This lead to high winds in the usual wind prone areas as well as some adjacent areas.
