During the early morning of January 5th, a winter system brough one half of an inch to one inch of snow to the western half of the combined Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles. A strong pressure gradient occurred on the backside of the low pressure system as it moved across the Panhandles. This resulted in gusty winds, with at least one severe wind gust being recorded in Gray County.
