Event narrative

Generally 12 to 20 inches of snow fell across the area with locally higher amount of 31 inches of snow at Tower. Winds gusted up to 46 mph at Storm Peak Lab.

Wider weather episode

Following another brief lull, a stronger wave carried a more substantial plume of Atmospheric River moisture in the 95th percentile northward allowing for heavy mountain snowfall of well over a foot to favor the Elkhead and Park Mountains in northwest Colorado. Some central Colorado mountains also saw light to moderate amounts with little snowfall across the southern mountains. Milder air continued to limit snowfall to the higher elevations.
