Powerlines were blown down along Highway 13.

Wider weather episode

A line of severe convective showers moved through Eastern NC during the mid to late morning, exiting the Outer Banks early in the afternoon. Though no lightning occurred, severe convective winds gusted to 60 mph or greater, producing sporadic to at times widespread tree damage and power outages.
