South-southwesterly winds became breezy during the afternoon hours in Southeast Missouri. Winds were strongest into the evening ahead of a developing band of heavy rain that pushed northeastward through the Quad State, gusting to 47 mph at Cape Girardeau Regional Airport with reports of tree limb damage.
