Wind gusts near 60 mph caused minor damage across the county. The airport in Cahokia (KCPS) reported a gust to 50KT or 58 mph. In Belleville a tree fell onto a home and another tree fell onto another building.

Wider weather episode

A strong storm system developing across the region led to strong southeasterly winds. While severe thunderstorms also developed during the evening, these strong winds occurred in advance of the thunderstorms during the afternoon. Reports of minor damage to trees and structures were received across the region.
