Event narrative

Aiken County EM Director reports there is a large brush fire at the vicinity of Glass Rope Lane and New Holland Road. The fire grew to at least 60 acres in the afternoon. 25 homes were evacuated as a result. The fire was 100% contained by 8am March 27th.

Wider weather episode

Continued dry and windy conditions lead to relative humidities falling below 20% and Red Flag criteria conditions in the afternoon of March 26th. A brush grew in Aiken grew rapidly and forced the evacuations of 25 homes in Aiken as a result.
