Event narrative

Generally 6 to 10 inches of snow fell across the area with locally higher amounts up to 12 inches at Lizard Head Pass. Wind gusts up to 41 mph occurred at elevations above 12,000 feet, staying below 45 mph.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system moved from Arizona to along the New Mexico and southern Colorado border, allowing for light to moderate snowfall across the San Juan Mountains. Outside of the heavier snow in the San Juan Mountains and light snow in the southern valleys, not much snow fell elsewhere.
