High water was reported along Airport Road between Oak Street and Whispering Pine Drive.

Rain entered the area late on the night of the 7th, then a band of precipitation continued to feed across southern West Virginia and parts of northeast Kentucky and southwest Virginia through the morning of the 8th. This band lifted north with a warm front during the afternoon, then additional scattered precipitation preceded a west to east moving cold front during the evening and night.

While the majority of the area received less than an inch of rain, a strip of one to two inches of rain fell across portions of central, southern, and eastern West Virginia. This strip of heavier rain fell across an area that had already been saturated by rain earlier in the week, thus prompting flooding to begin on the 8th. A combination of rain and snowmelt also led to some flooding in the northeast mountains. Impacts from excess runoff included flooded roads, mud and rock slides, and a flooded home near Kermit, WV.

Flooding came to an end before midnight on the 9th, while the cold front and any lingering showers progressed out of the area.
