Clear skies from high pressure and a fresh snowpack allowed for bitterly cold air temperatures across southern Wisconsin. The bitterly cold air temperatures combined with breezy winds, allowing for widespread wind chills between -25 and -35. Locally colder wind chills between -35 and -40 were observed.
