Event narrative
One to two inches of snowfall measured across the county.
Wider weather episode
A deepening upper level low traversed across the upper Midwest and stretched a cold front over eastern Kansas and southern Missouri. Strong frontogenesis, aided by a strong upper level jet, sagged the aforementioned front southeast into the Mid-South. This quick moving system brought a mix of wintry precipitation from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning. Arctic air was unable to reach the southernmost areas which resulted in lower snow accumulations, but in the north; strong frontal forcing and cold air present resulted in impactful snow accumulations. Less than typical snow-to-liquid ratios prevailed Tuesday evening, but increased during the overnight hours before the upper low traversed east by sunrise Wednesday morning.
