Event narrative

A light to moderate glaze of ice was reported, as well as a dusting of sleet and snow. The greatest freezing rain measurement received was 0.43 at the Pocono Mountains Municipal Airport from a combination of freezing rain and freezing fog.

Wider weather episode

A quick moving wintry system brought a light glaze of ice to the southern Poconos, Lehigh Valley, and other adjacent higher elevations of eastern Pennsylvania. The precipitation began as a mix of slight snow and sleet in some areas in the evening of the 12th before changing to freezing rain or rain and ending by the morning of the 13th.
