Hail to the size of quarters fell in the Dora area.

Wider weather episode

Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds moved across southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri during the early morning hours of March 30th. Numerous tree damage occurred in Cherokee County, Kansas. A 79mph wind gust was measured at the Joplin Airport. Additional severe thunderstorms with large hail to the size of tennis balls occurred east of Springfield during the afternoon of the 30th.
