Wider weather episode

A warm front extended well to the north into Northeast Oklahoma and Western Arkansas during the early to mid morning hours on March 4th while a cold front front continued to approach from the west. Pressure falls were strong in this region with over 2 millibar falls per hour. As a result, it was evident that a strengthening low-level jet was increasing warm and moist air advection northward. Meanwhile, surface observations otherwise indicated only marginally strong instability extending across the warm sector in Southeast Oklahoma and the surrounding Ark-La-Tex region. Regardless, this environment continued to support a damaging wind threat along the advancing squall line of thunderstorms and proved to be sufficient for isolated wind damage at the local park in Wright City.
